Where to Find Scarlet Quartz and How to Use it

Melt Frozen Fragment #1

To melt the ice, you need to use four pieces of scarlet quartz. Break each of them in turn and unfreeze the fragment until it disappears completely.

The first quartz is located on a hill to the right of a block of strange ice. Pick it up, quickly return to the ice and hit it with a simple attack. The ice will melt, but not completely: you need to do the same machination three more times.

You will find the next quartz directly opposite the fragment.

You will find two more stones behind the ice floe, one to the left and one to the right.

Ultimately, the thawed fragment will turn into a round sphere. Activate it and with this action you will open the Permafrost Tree - now you can present it with accumulated crimson agates and collect useful items as a reward.

Now you need to move up the path, towards the quest marker on the map. A strong wind will not allow you to approach it to the end, which will blow the character away. I'll have to go to Yu Xia again to inform her about this.

Don't forget to use Crimson Quartz and melt the Archon Statue on the Ridge.

How to melt all frozen fragments

The NPC will let you know that there are two more places where you need to unfreeze objects. Below we will consider in detail their location and the activation process.

Frozen Fragment #2

The second ice object is waiting in the Cave of Starlight, in the southeast of the location. To get to it, use the western teleporter and dive down from it to the entrance to the cave.

Move deeper into the tunnel, turn left at the fork. The puzzle is waiting on the lower tier: jump down and see the fragment itself, protected by an impenetrable translucent dome. Nearby you will stumble upon a puzzle with fairies and a test - it will help you remove the barrier and gain access to the block.

Where to find fairies

To the right of the dome you will see the entrance to the tunnel. Run inside and directly opposite you will find a pile of stones. Destroy it with hero attacks and you will find a fire fairy, as well as quartz, which will come in handy later. Run along with the spirit to one of the pedestals.

When the first fairy sits in the garden, get a rich chest, and next to it you will see a second spirit. Escort him to your house.

Again, run inside the tunnel, which is located to the right of the fragment. From the entrance, turn right: there is a third warm spirit upstairs, as well as scarlet quartz, which you will return to later.

You must first set up a squad and be sure to take a Pyro or Electro hero. After seating all three fairies, start the time trial and fight the opponents.

There will be four groups of monsters in total: the first three will meet hilichurls and cryo shamachurls, and in the final - immediately three Cryo Mages of the Abyss. During the battle, you can run up to the houses with warm fairies to keep warm.

As a result, you will earn a Precious Chest containing one Crimson Agate inside. And also, after the test, the barrier will fall off the piece of ice, so you can start defrosting the fragment.

Where to find scarlet quartz

Now that the object is free, you need to unfreeze it as well. You can pick up special ore at the following points:

• two pieces are at the pedestals with fairies;

•  another one is upstairs in the cave where the third fairy soared earlier;

• the latter is in the depths of the same cave, directly opposite the entrance. Here, earlier, a pile of stones was broken and the first fairy was found.

Melt the object using four stones and get a round mechanism that you need to interact with. After that, you will see how a certain object flew out of it and rushed up.

Frozen Fragment #3

The third ice is hidden in the vicinity of the Buried Capital. Find a circular arena on the map and head there to solve the puzzle with the Cryo Monuments.

How to activate cryo monuments

Approach the square mechanism, above which the burning fairy hovers. When she flies, carefully follow the order of her stops - this is the order in which you need to light the elemental columns. The correct order is shown in the screenshot below.

After all the Cryo Pillars have been properly lit, a Precious Chest will appear. As soon as you open it, several monsters will wake up that you need to fight - this is ruin guards and thresher.

During the battle, the temperature will drop dramatically, which will further reduce the HP of the heroes. Warming candles work in four places on the arena: periodically run up to them so that the frost scale falls and the characters do not suffer from it.

When you complete the battle, in the cut-scene you will see that a hole has appeared in the ground.

Where to find fairies and scarlet quartz

To gain access to the third piece of ice, you need to place two fairies in their statues. You will find one of them as soon as you look into the resulting hole in the ground. Follow her to the bottom of the abyss until she sits down in her garden.

Another spirit lurked in one of the snowdrifts nearby. To find and release him, take the Pyro of the hero and melt all the snow mounds until you find the right one in this way. The released fairy will rush to her house.

After that, the grate blocking the passage will rise, and behind it there will be two rich chests and a piece of quartz between them. Chop it and run to the ice.

The other three deposits are located around the object itself, so now you can quickly unfreeze it and activate the last spherical mechanism. Something will also fly out of it and quickly fly upwards. After the cut-scene, a couple of monsters will appear, however, they will be weakened beforehand, and the battle with them will not take much time.

How to find the way to the top of the mountain

Go to a place where you previously could not go due to powerful wind currents. Now there are no obstacles on the way, and the path to the tunnel is free - go deep there. On the way you will meet an unpleasant obstacle in the form of a reservoir and Cryo Hilichurls, which will immobilize the hero and lower his health over and over again. Cross this place and into the next room pick up three anemogranumsto reach the next location in the airflow. You can climb up the wall if you have enough stamina.

Thus, you will find yourself in a new location, where you will once again need to break the fragments - they are again frozen.

Melt the fragments one more time

Fragment #1

In the southwest of the territory marked on the map, next to the inactive ruin guard, you will find another quartz. Break it and with the help of charged attacks direct it to one of the blocks that are located on the elements of the column in the center.

Fragment #2

You can find another piece of quartz in the north of the ruins, having risen a little higher. Run up the stairs and cross the stone gate to get to platform with lavachurl and quartz. You have to defeat the enemy, then to pick up a stone and shoot up one of the fragments. Near the quartz here hovers fire fairy: follow her and she will show you the way up to the third required stone.

Fragment #3

The fairy will fly first to the column, and from there - up the snowy mountain. Climb after her and you will find yourself on top with an elemental column. Ignite it with an Anemo element to create a stream that will lift the hero even higher.

Take off on the stream and move further through the rings. They will lead to the opposite mountain, where the hilichurls have set up camp. Defeat the monsters and take the chest.

Then take the quartz that stood in the corner of the area behind the hilichurls, and together with it shoot down, at the last piece of ice.

On each of the pieces of the column where the ice blocks were broken, round mechanisms will appear. From the same peak, dive down and launch each ball, while the stone pieces will begin to approach each other.

After completing the activation of all devices, automatically start the cut-scene. She demonstrates how a giant column came together and rushed up. At the same time, the ice from below broke through, exposing an unexplored space.

Explore the area under the ice

Dive down into the hole formed in the ground. There you will find a gate in the dungeon - be sure to interact with it to get access to the Vindagnir's Peak dungeon. The space around is replete with chests - collect them.

Climb up to where you took the last quartz, climb up the slope and climb the floating column to get two achievements.
