Discarded chevron в Genshin Impact — a side task of the summer event "Summer Sea Voyage", in which players were given the opportunity to revisit Archipelago of the Golden Apple. During the quest, the Traveler will meet with Fatui and help him in exchange for information.
How to start the Discarded Chevron quest
To start the quest, go to dangerous island and activate the mechanism located at the indicated point (a small pool), which changes the appearance of the island.
After the island changes its shape, the Traveler will have access to several elemental pillars and four leaf clover, activated by the Anemo character. After activating it, a wind current will appear in the center of the island, which will take the character directly to Electro Hammerwho gives this quest.

As soon as the Traveler is next to the hammer, Paimon will start a small dialogue, from which it will become clear that a member of the Fatui squad, like everyone else on the archipelago, is behaving strangely.
Find the chevron that Electro Hammerman is talking about
Starting a conversation with an unknown soldier of Fatui, the Traveler will note that he is not at all predisposed to dialogue and constantly repeats about some chevron. Paimon will suggest that it is necessary to find the lost object in order to bring the hammerer out of the trance and continue the conversation.
In case if old chevron has not yet been found during the passage of the main storyline of the archipelago, go to pudding island. It is located in the area shown in the screenshot.
As soon as the chevron is at the hammerer, he will come to his senses and tell what happened on this island. It turns out that Chevka (this is the name of the interlocutor) was not alone on this island, but with his colleague Yakov. The latter, as a result of the study of the archipelago, interacted with some kind of "strange thing", which transported him to an unknown location. Chevka, trying to find Yakov, fell under the influence Persikov's mechanismwhich caused him to be in a trance.

Figure out how to discover the path Jacob walked
After finishing the dialogue, you will need to go down to the elemental pillars. Near pyro monument is echo shell, telling about how to open the passage into which Yakov went.
In order to open the portal, you must follow simple rules:
- first activate the white (Cryo) pillar;
- the second is green (Anemo);
- then - red (Pyro);
- and finally blue (Hydro).
If everything is done correctly, a small cutscene will start and a portal, which is to be entered.
In the middle of the puddle around which the pillars are located, you can also find hidden chest.
Find Jacob
The portal that appears will lead the Traveler to the starting island of the archipelago. Chevka is already waiting there. From a conversation with him, it will become clear that Yakov is somewhere nearby.
Once the dialogue is over, go to tent, located in the center of the island, where Yakov is located. Like Chevka at the beginning of the quest, he does not react to either the Traveler and Paimon, or his own friend.
Try to wake Jacob
After finishing the dialogue with Yakov, turn to Chevka, who will try to bring his colleague to his senses on his own. Unfortunately, there is no way to do this.
Look for other squad members
Chevka will suggest that other members of the squad will help bring Yakov back to normal. Total in squad 4 person. Since 2 have already been found, it remains to find the remaining ones. In order to do this and start another quest chain, you need to go to broken island and find the Mirror Maiden.
