You can only begin this quest after completing the quest "Storm Hunters of Seirai ." You'll then need to speak with Katerina in the capital of Inazuma. She'll tell you that a very important assignment has arrived from the writer Sumida and that you should contact her for details.

How to get to Tsurumi

Sumida plans to enter the "Amazing Novel" competition and wants to write the perfect work. To accurately capture the atmosphere, she needs a maushiro musical instrument from the foggy Tsurumi. The writer hands over a letter asking for a character named Kama to guide the Traveler to the quest location.

The boat owner is waiting on Rito Island . Teleport there and speak with Kama. The characters' locations are marked on the map.

Once Kama helps you get to Tsurumi, you need to immediately activate the Statue of the Seven Archons to open the island map and get the Continental Explorer: Tsurumi achievement.

Talk to the mysterious boy

The entire island is covered in fog. To clear it and continue the quest, you need to go through the gate. It's located a little further down the path. The fog will clear, but some areas of the area will remain dark. These are where the offering nests are located.

After passing through the gate, you need to speak with a mysterious boy named Ru . He will tell you about a ceremony in honor of Kapatsiri and invite you to join the preparations.

Next, you need to talk to Ru at the designated location—in front of one of the nests. It's located a little further from where you spoke with the mysterious boy. Two more characters are waiting there: Ipe and Makiri . They explain that you need to perform a ritual to collect all the feathers that have flown from the nest.

How to make a nest offering: where to find all the feathers

Once the dialogue is over, approach the nest and interact with it. A cutscene will begin, showing feathers scattered over a small area. You can use Elemental Sense to find them (you'll see a purple trail). All the feathers are marked on the minimap, so finding them shouldn't be difficult. The first one is hovering to the left of the nest (if you're facing away from it), near Ru, Ipe, and Makiri. The second feather is slightly lower, next to the thunderstone on the right. The third one is on a small mountain.

As soon as you collect all the feathers, you need to return to the nesting place and interact with it again. A cut-scene will begin, in which it will be shown that one of the areas with fog where the ritual was performed has cleared. Then another conversation with Ru. He will say that the maushiro will be at the ceremony site and you need to go there.

Head to the ceremony site and find the priest

A priest named Mata is at the ceremony site. He'll explain that the same ritual must be performed in three more locations . At the nesting sites, you'll need to search for feathers again and clear the fog. You'll also need to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. The ritual can be performed in any order.

Pass through the mist and make an offering to the nest [3]

All three nesting sites are hidden in the fog . For ease of reference, all the trees on the open map are marked on the map. The procedure at each point is exactly the same:

1. Touch the nest.
2. Find all the feathers marked on the map.
3. Touch the tree again.
4. Talk to Ru.

1 Nest: Tiray Shrine

The nest is located behind the sanctuary on a small island. In order not to get lost in the fog, follow the thunder stones on the left side. Ru and Ku, who is injured, are waiting there. You need to talk to the boy, and then proceed to the ritual. As soon as the cut-scene with scattered feathers passes, you can go in search.

First feather

The feather flies near the nesting place. You need to stand with your back to the tree and jump into the cave on the left side. There is a circle of thunderstones.

Second feather

To the right of the nesting place (if you stand with your back to it) there is another feather on the hill. As soon as the touch occurs, it will fly to the other side. You can get to the pen through the phase gates located nearby.

After flying over to the left side of the hills and collecting the Electrocult along the way, you can again interact with the feather, but the monsters will attack. It is recommended to kill them or just run away. The feather will again fly to another place and end up on the plain below, where it can be sent to nest.

third feather

The Feather is located next to the Relay Stones puzzle, but you don't need to solve it for the story. Monsters will appear again, from which you will have to fight back. After defeating the opponents, you can touch the feather and return to the nest for the last step of the ritual.

The cut-scene and conversation with Ru will play again, after which you can go to the next place of the ritual.

2 Nest: Sirikoro Peak

There's no need to climb the mountain; there's an entrance from Oina Beach . A fairy is flying there (as a landmark). The Nest will be in the center of the mountain, on a small island, where Roo is waiting again.

After the dialogue, you can start the ritual by touching the tree. All feathers will fly to the bottom of the cave, where you need to solve puzzles. The bottom of the cave is flooded with water. To remove it, you need to bring the fairies to their gardens.

How to bring three fairies to the gardens

The first is waiting at the entrance to the cave from the side of Oina beach.

If you stand facing the nesting place, then the second wandering fairy can be seen at the bottom left. You need to plan to it and lead up (for lifting it is worth using the Branches of the Thunder Cherry).

The third creature is to the right of the tree on a raised platform. You can get to it along the nesting branch.

After all the fairies return to their gardens, a cutscene will play showing the water receding, and a rich chest will appear. The feathers will lie together at the very bottom of the cave. When touched, the closest one will immediately fly to the nesting place . The remaining feathers will fly further into the passage where you must solve the first puzzle with the round door. Until you pass through it, the feathers will not fly further.

How to open the first round door: the second feather

It is necessary to solve the riddle with the relay stones. They will unlock the activator cube, which will open the round door. All relay stones are nearby. Pick them up and put them in their places. There are 3 stones in total.

You need to place the relay stones to the right (2 parts) and to the left of the door (1 part), as shown in the screenshots below.

After solving the puzzle, touch the cube and open the round door, behind which stands a ruin guardian. After defeating him, touch the second feather and touch the third.

It will fly through the next door. It is necessary to solve another riddle with relay stones at the bottom of the cave.

To get started, bring the three fairies to their gardens to flush the water with the Activator Cube. For now, it's blocked.

The first fairy flies right near the entrance to the cave with water.

The second fairy is in the room with the drawings that refer to the puzzle with the star gems on Tsurumi Island.

Behind the broken bell is a pile of stones, the fairy is hidden there. Hit the pile with your two-handed sword and escort it to the garden.

Once the water is gone, get down. There is a second puzzle with relay stones. One of them lies on a destroyed bell next to an amazing chest, the other two are downstairs near the electrical circuit. There are 3 stones in total.

One of the stones must be placed at the bottom at the beginning of the chain from the wall.

Place the remaining two in the gap to the left and right of the round door. As soon as the passage opens, you can pick up the last feather and return to Roo and the nesting place, where the cut-scene will play again and the fog will go away.

3 Nesting: on the Autake Plains

Rip Puppies will appear near the nesting site on the Autake Plains . Kill them and speak with Ru. Then the final ritual with the tree will begin. There are no puzzles here, but there are a large number of enemies. It's best to fight them, as they will greatly hinder your feather collection.

First feather

The first feather lies directly under the nesting hill. Before you can return it, you need to fight the Pups of the Rupture.

Second feather

It is located next to the hilichurls. Kill them and interact with the feather. The object will fly away. It is necessary to immediately take the Electrogranum next to the hilichurls, as the feather will be behind the barrier. Then run back to the item and pick it up at the end point. The Puppies of the Rupture will immediately appear there.

third feather

The third feather hovers above the roof of the hut in the Hilichurl camp . Whether you fight them or not makes no difference. You can safely take the feather. After searching, return to the nest and watch the final cutscene with the fog clearing.

After the last ritual, you need to talk with Ru. He will tell you that there were other adventurers looking for maushiro. However, they didn't succeed. Ru sends the hero to the place of the ceremony, while he himself remains at the nesting site.

Where to find maushiro

The traveler will return to the place of the ceremony, but will not find people there. Now it remains only to find maushiro. The musical instrument is in the center of the site where the ritual was to be performed.

Look around the light

In the very center of the site you will see a small light - this is the maushiro. Take it and return to Kame.

Talk to Kama and return to Sumida

After receiving the musical instrument maushiro and talking with Kama, the main character will be returned back to Rito.

You need to go to Sumida and turn in the quest. During the conversation, it turns out that the musical instrument has disappeared. This concludes the first task of the chain. It will continue the next day.
